STP40周年記念行事は多くの方にご来場いただき、
大盛況のうちに終了しました。
数年ぶりの再会、新たな出会いのきっかけに
なることができたのではないかと思っています。
ご来場くださった皆様、画像・資料をご提供くださった皆様、
そして、温かいメッセージをお送りくださった皆様、
本当にありがとうございました。

あの年、あのＳＴＰ開催地の懐かしい仲間に会いましょう！
 
懐かしい仲間、元教え子たちとの再会の場です。
当時の写真、寄せ書き・色紙、教材、チーフ日誌などの思い出の数々が展示されます。
元教え子の中学生からのメッセージも。そしてさらには「涙のご対面」も！
 
久しぶりに、あの年、あのＳＴＰ開催地の懐かしい仲間と、
ゆっくり昔話に花を咲かせる事ができるスペースです。
はるばる、遠隔地から元中学生もやって来ます。
 
さらに、室蘭ＳＴＰに16年間参加されたドイル先生、
はたして何年ＳＴＰに参加されているのか？ミルワード先生、
そして、はやりＳＴＰの歴史キューレ先生、
・・・・・何人もの恩師にも会えます！
 
中々会う機会のない学生時代の仲間や元教え子たちを
誘って「ミニ同窓会」をやりませんか？

ありませんが、７７年、７８年の懐かしい写真や資料が
たくさん展示されております。中尾が終日おりますので、

小・中学生集まれ！英語の楽しさは、ここにあり！
 
  実施時間：　　第１回　11：30～12：15　　第2回　13：40～14：25
　対象：　小学校3年生から中学3年生まで。
（参加希望者は直接会場へお越しください）
 
 
英語学科の現役大学生とＳＴＰ卒業生の現役英語教員のコラボレーションで
「模擬ＳＴＰ」を行います。
吉田研作先生のティーチングも受けられ、はじめて英語に触れるお子さんでも、
少し英語の勉強を始めているお子さんでも大丈夫。
一緒に楽しく英語で遊んでみましょう！
「未来のソフィアン」も集まれ！

《吉田研作教授からのメッセージ》
 
It is difficult to believe that 40 years have gone by since the first STP was held in Onoda and Shimonoseki. I remember when we started the program. It was a program of SELF (Sophia English Language Federation)--the student council of the Department of English--and it wasn't even a club or circle. Actually, I didn't think it would continue beyond that year, because most programs planned and carried out by the student council were short-lived. But STP was different. As a matter of fact, it has outlived not only the official circles that existed in SELF, but it has survived even after SELF itself was dissolved.

I'm not really sure what it is about STP that has attracted so many students (overall, probably over 2000 students have taken part in STP activities).  However, I think one big reason is that STP is a volunteer activity, for which many students work part-time simply to make enough money to take part in the activities. Another possible reason is that it is a program created by the students themselves.  The students themselves negotiate with the boards of education, schools and organizations where they plan to hold their STP activities. They also prepare their own texts, teaching methods and extra-curricula activities. In other words, it is their production and creation.

Above all, however, I think it has continued for as long as it has because the students love English and honestly want to share their love for the language and culture with the young students they teach.

This year, STP will venture into a new international arena--STP Cambodia.  However, we should not forget that STP started out as a small inconspicuous volunteer activity, and that's why it has survived for so long. My hope is that it will continue as an activity loved by all who take part in it--as students, student teachers, as well as graduates and faculty who continue to support it.

Let me finally express my sincere gratitude to the many professors who have and continue to support the STP activities.
They include Professor Milward, Professor Cure, Professor Deely, Fr. Doyle, and the many other professors who took time out from their busy summer schedule to accompany the students; and, of course, to the late Fr. Nissel, who helped us start the program in the first place.

カンボジアで開催。

 
誕生40周年の記念すべき年に、ＳＴＰは海外へと飛躍します！
はじめての海外開催は、上智大学とも関係の深いカンボジアで、中学生を対象に活動を実施します。

 

40年かけて築き上げてきたノウハウを礎に、ＳＴＰの可能性をさらに広めていきます。吉田教授はじめ、多くの方々に支えていただきながら、8月の実施を目指して

メンバー一同楽しみながら頑張っています。

 

5月31日の記念イベントで、カンボジアSTP担当からの報告もあります。
